- FALL PLANTING CALENDAR -
Use this calendar to raise the last fall crops to harvest without winter protection.
Enter the date of your first fall frost (mm/dd/yyyy).
FIRST FALL FROST (e.g. 10/10/2015) Use the average dates of frosts in your garden over the past 5 years or so. If you don't know these dates, use date from NOAA. Enter the current year.
21 weeks before last frost: Sow fall Brussels sprouts and cabbage indoors in pots.
17 weeks before first frost: Transplant fall Brussels sprouts and cabbage to garden. Sow fall collards, broccoli and cauliflower indoors in pots. (Last week to plant edamame soybeans.)
15 weeks before first frost: Sow fall fennel and pea seeds directly in the garden. Sow fall raddichio indoors in pots. (Last week to plant pole beans and sweet corn.)
13 weeks before first frost: Transplant fall collards, broccoli and cauliflower to garden. Sow fall endive, escarole and bok choi indoors in pots. Sow carrots and kale seeds directly in the garden.
12 weeks before first frost: Last week to plant snap beans.
11 weeks before first frost: Transplant raddichio to garden. Sow beets, turnip and heading lettuce seeds directly in the garden. Sow last fall crop of beets, beans and cilantro.
9 weeks before first frost: Transplant fall endive, escarole and bok choi to garden. Sow baby Swiss chard seeds directly in garden.
8 weeks before first frost: Sow baby lettuce, spinach, arugula and radish seeds directly in garden.
